We are a walk-in clinic so you can come in when it's convenient for you with no appointment necessary. Our goal is to have you in and out in an hour.

Niceville Urgent Care has been in business since 2014 in Okaloosa County and is a proud member of the Niceville Area Chamber of Commerce. We are proud to service the Niceville community. We were recognized as Finest on the Emerald Coast 2017.

 

Providers/Staff Bios

Joshua L. Latham, MD

Dr. Joshua L Latham specializes in emergency medicine in Niceville area and has over 12 years of experience in the field of medicine. He graduated from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School Of Medicine with his medical degree in 2005.

 

Charles Clancy, PA-C

PA Clancy loves the look of relief on a parents face when he is able to ease the pain and suffering of their child. As a parent, he is fully aware of the frustration often associated with long wait times and high cost of Health Care. PA Clancy always endeavors to provide the same high quality and expeditious Health Care each and every shift that he would expect for his own children. PA Clancy considers it a personal challenge to get at least one smile from even the sickest of his Pediatric patients.

 

Bogan McQuigg PA-C

PA McQuigg Served for 28 years in the US Navy, 20 years as a corpsman. He graduated from George Washington University in 1993. Through Naval school of health sciences in San Diego California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences then served Eight years as a PA. Started working in ERS in 1994 through 2014. Graduated University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1995 with a master's degree in emergency medicine

 

Kyle Cooper PA-C

Pa Cooper loves being a PA because he honestly loves helping people! He loves working here at Niceville/Crestview/Perdido Urgent care because it’s like being part of a family who loves to help people and fill the gap between primary care and emergency care treatment!

Allison Ewen PA-C

PA Ewen was born and raised in northeastern Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Microbiology and Immunology in 2012. She then attended Midwestern University in the Chicago suburbs to obtain a Master of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant studies. She began working in Urgent Care as a Physician Assistant in 2014 in Kirksville, MO. PA Ewen discovered a passion for Urgent Care and continued to work in the field after moving to Normal, IL and, currently Niceville, FL.

PA Ewen recently moved to the Niceville area with her husband and daughter. Her husband is a member of the Air Force and currently stationed at Eglin AFB.  PA Ewen is an enthusiastic Badger and Packer fan. She enjoys walking, hiking, water activities, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

 

Mellisa Thompson, RN, MSN, ARNP

Mellisa Thompson, ARNP is a board-certified nurse practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  She graduated with honors from the University of South Alabama specializing in emergency, trauma, and acute care.  She is currently finishing her doctoral degree in nursing practice from Walden University and will be submitting her antibiotic stewardship research for publication in 2018.

Mellisa began her medical career in the United States Navy in 1991 and retired as a nurse corps officer in 2015.  She was awarded with numerous medals and letters during her naval career which she finished as a Command Training Officer overseeing more than 300 individuals.

She and her husband of 25 years raised 5 children and have fun with their 3 grand-children.  In her spare time, Mellisa enjoys their farm in Cantonment, going on camping adventures, and quilting.   Mellisa was born and raised in Ohio and is a huge Buckeye fan.  She actively supports and raises money for the Buckeyes Cruise for Cancer foundation. 

 

Scott Shepard PA-C, MPAS

Scott Shepard received medical and emergency care training while serving in the United States Air Force and completed his master’s in physician assistant studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, the Special Operations Medicine Association, and the Army Flight Surgeon Association.

 

MAJ (R) Sean F. Del Grego MPAS, PA-C

MAJ (R) Sean F. Del Grego PA-C is a seasoned advanced practitioner who has been specializing in Family Medicine since 1998.  PA Del Grego is currently completing his doctorate and is a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) Fellow with Lynchburg College.  He graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1998. He also attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a Masters in PA Studies Specializing in Family Medicine in 1999.  PA Del Grego retired from the US Army after nearly 26 years of service in 2013.  

While in the US Army, he served as the Senior PA for United States Army Europe and had multiple jobs over the years practicing medicine at the clinic, Battalion and Brigade levels.  His last duty assigned was with the 6th Ranger Training Battalion for the US Army Ranger School here in the Eglin AFB area.  During his time in the military, PA Del Grego received multiple awards. His highest award was the Bronze Star Medal for actions taken while serving combat duties in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007. 

Since retiring from active military service, PA Del Grego has worked as a Hospitalist, in multiple Urgent Cares and most recently in charge of a Walk-In Clinic in the Destin area.  His clinic was the 2016 recipient of the "Best in Destin 2016 award". This is an award votes on by the public amongst all other Urgent Care facilities in Destin and surrounding areas per the Emerald Coast Magazine. 

 

Katie Taylor, ARNP

Katie Taylor, ARNP is Board Certified from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Completing her graduate degree with honors from Samford University, Katie comes to Niceville Urgent Care with over 14 years of experience in the medical field. Training in military and civilian emergency departments, urgent cares, and ambulatory surgery centers around the country has prepared Katie to work confidentially with the cares and concerns of the active and retired military population.

Passionate about preventive medicine, alternative health therapies & emergency/urgent care medicine, Katie strives to tailor each patient's care to their needs and bases her clinical decisions of researched and updated practice guidelines. A continual learner, Katie is working toward her doctorate of nursing practice in the upcoming year.

Katie, her husband and her son (and 2 schnauzers) are excited to call Destin home after many years of vacationing in the beautiful area.

Beginning Monday, July 16, 2018 we will be opening our Labcorp satellite clinic, located within Niceville Urgent Care, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday starting at 7:00am. Please ring the doorbell if you need labs done before 8:00am when Niceville Urgent Care opens.
